To our partner agents,

Greeting of good health.

Since the COVID-19 became an international concern at the start of 2020, EV Academy has been giving you updates and information about the status of the students and the action plans that EV Academy has taken. We were ready and prepare to address the concerns related to COVID-19 on our level, from travel bans to implementing strict precautionary measures among others. However, because in the last two weeks, COVID-19 has become more widespread in the Philippines, the government started implementing stringent rules which has led to enhanced community quarantine in Manila as of this writing

Cebu does not have any confirmed case of COVID-19; however, its government is doing strict implementations of class suspension, resulting to us enforcing these changes.

Here is the latest status of the student’s stay in EV Academy now:

                 A. All students who decide to stay in EV Academy will be able to stay in EV until March 28, 2020, free of charge. This means they no longer have to pay for their accommodation and utilities such as water and electricity. March 28, 2020 is the time limit that the government allowed ESL schools to hold students, after which, they are no longer allowed to stay in EV Academy. This is the reason we are encouraging them to book flights as soon as possible because Cebu will most likely be under Enhanced Community Quarantine in the next few days. This means everyone will not be allowed to go out for whatever purpose.

                 B. All students were given options regarding their remaining study period. They could decide to go and request for a refund. In this case, the refund policy of the company will be followed. Another option is for students to hold their remaining study period – study credit. They can redeem their study credit within 1year period from the day they check out from EV Academy. The period included for refund starts this week, March 16, 2020, as classes officially ended on March 13, 2020. They may request refund from this week until the end of their remaining study period.

                 C. When Philippines started implementing community quarantine in Manila, we already highly suggested to the students to leave for their country. We understand that the government has become very strict on its policies already. It will become more difficult for student to find flights because aside from Philippines limiting entries in its international borders, local travel bans are also implemented. Students have been duly informed of all the updates and changes relevant to flight bans.

We apologize for all the inconvenience this has caused you, and more importantly for the uncertainties of the situation in the last couple of days. All ESL schools have been dependent to the directives from different sectors of the government. We can only devise a plan after issuance of executive order and advisories from different government agencies.

Asking for your understanding this time is quite daring, but please extend understanding to us and the situation. Despite everything, we are giving our assurance that we are taking care of our students with utmost care. They have always been our priority, more so now. Each plan we make, each action we take, our student has always been the center of it.

Also, please see the separate page for the registration after the class suspension.

Registration Guidelines Post-Suspension

Following the executive order from Cebu City government starting March 16,2020 until April 11, 2020. The executive order demands all public and private schools, including ESL, to stop operations and observe the government-imposed community quarantine.  This is a mitigation procedure by the government to combat the spread of COVID-19 in Cebu. All ESL schools are required strict compliance and adherence to policies implemented by the government.

In connection to this, please be advised of the following updates on registrations guidelines.

  1. All new registrations will be done after April 11,2020; however, please be advised to refrain from booking flight tickets for Cebu. Although community quarantine is only required until April,2020, further assessments need to be done; therefore, extension of quarantine is a possibility.

  1. For registrations made before April 11, 2020, you may choose either to delay or cancel your registrations. If you choose to delay, please inform us of a later date of preference. For cancellation, EV Academy refund procedures will follow.

We apologize for all these changes. We humbly request for your understanding. We may temporarily suspend our operations, but we are hopeful and positive that this adversity shall pas and we will return to our normal way of operating as soon as possible. We wish you utmost health in this time of crisis.

Thank you very much for your understanding.
